GOALL (Great Online Activities for Language Learning) provides an online language learning platform for language learners in web and mobile applications (collectively, the "Services"). GOALL is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. GOALL only has access to collect information that you voluntarily give us via using or accessing our services or from other direct contact from you. GOALL will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
GOALL will use your provided information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. GOALL will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, such as to process your order. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this Privacy Policy.
GOALL collects various types of personal information depending on how you use our services. We collect personally identifiable information about you in the following ways:

With your permission, your speech data will be used to improve our product and your experience. Any speech data you allow GOALL to use is anonymized to ensure your identity is concealed. You may choose to stop sharing your audio with us at any time.
4. How Information is Used
When you visit our site, we record your visit in a log file, including the name of each accessed webpage, the date and time of access, the data volume transferred, the operating system used by you, the previously visited website URL, your IP address and the access requesting provider. We collect this information in order to ensure website security and quality.
For paid/premium users only, when you purchase a GOALL subscription, we collect your name, address, email address, usage data, user name, password, credit card number and expiration date, and purchase information. We collect this information in order to identify you as a customer, process orders, deliver products and services to you, and manage customer purchases and accounts. When you submit an inquiry, we collect your name, email address, and zip code in order to process and respond to your inquiries.
For employees or those who apply to work at GOALL, we collect your name, address, email, preferred workplace, prior work experience, skills, referrals, and application documents that you submit. Such information is processed solely for recruitment purposes.
When you use our form for scheduling appointments, we collect your name, email address and other contact details, and selection of language. This information is used to process and handle your request. When you indicate that you want to receive marketing emails from us, we collect your name and email address to send you offers and information about our websites, or products, services, and events offered by us or one of our affiliates, including for marketing and promotional purposes (as permitted by law).
If you are a past or present employee of GOALL or our affiliates, who is based in the European Union, European Economic Area, or Switzerland, GOALL may collect your name, address, and other contact details, such as employment and academic history, financial information, age, gender, nationality, date and place of birth, marital status, language skills, employee and government IDs, income, dates of employment, and tax information, which may be transferred to and processed by GOALL in the United States for the purposes of administration, communication, and complying with labor law requirements.
When you use our websites, we may also collect information that, by itself, cannot be used to directly identify or contact you, such as demographic or technical information. We use automated and manual processing techniques when using information. GOALL's automated methods include artificial intelligence (AI) – technology that allows computers to perform tasks that typically require human knowledge and intelligence.

This aggregate information does not include your personal information.
7. Profile Page and User-Generated Content
After you register for your GOALL account, a profile page will be created for you. Your profile will be populated by the information you submit, such as your name, username, bio, and profile picture ("User-Generated Content"). Your name and email address are included in the user profile as part of the sign-up process. However, your email address will not be shared with other users. Other GOALL users may be able to search for your profile using your username.
Your profile will also include information about your learning progress, such as the languages you are learning, your learning statistics, and your achievements. Moreover, your Profile will show a list of your followers and other users you follow.
By default, your profile is visible to other GOALL users. In addition, your User-Generated Content may be publicly visible. If your profile is public, third-party websites or web scrapers may be able to read, collect, and use your public information for their own purposes.
GOALL may scan or review any User-Generated Content or share your User-Generated Content with a third-party content moderation service provider to ensure compliance with our Community Guidelines. GOALL may restrict or delete User-Generated Content if it violates our Community Guidelines or for any other legitimate reason.
8. GOALL's Use of ChatGPT
When you use GOALL, you may interact with Artificial Intelligence ("AI") features, including Reading Tutor, which provides AI-powered feedback on your answers, and Scenarios, which allows you to send audio to the GOALL application. When you interact with AI features, your information may be shared with AI vendors such as OpenAI, which may keep a copy of your text or audio responses for their own purposes. Please do not submit any personal or confidential information when using AI features.
9. Use of User's Audio in ChatGPT
Some lessons involve you speaking into the GOALL app. To recognize speech, your audio may be sent to a third-party provider such as Google, Apple, or Amazon Web Services. You may skip speaking challenges in your lesson. GOALL may also collect and analyze your speech to help us understand the effectiveness of our lessons and to improve the product. Any audio you agree to send to GOALL is anonymized when it reaches our servers to ensure that no trace of your personal information remains attached to the audio.
10. How Data is Processed
GOALL LLC is based in the United States and processes data in the United States, which may not provide equivalent levels of data protection as your home jurisdiction. GOALL may transfer users' data outside the United States to the United States. GOALL may process your personal information according to the following legal bases: to provide products or services you request, to promote GOALL's legitimate interests, to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent.
11. Providing and Improving GOALL
GOALL will process your personal information to improve GOALL. For example, we will use the information you provide to maintain your Profile and learning progress, display your Profile to other users (unless you make it private), personalize learning content, detect and fix bugs, perform beneficial research, and provide customer service to you.
GOALL may share personal information with third parties that help us provide or improve the Service, including hosting providers such as Amazon Web Services and search engine providers such as Google. GOALL may also share your information with third-party vendors that support product features such as AI, speech recognition, and content moderation.
If you redeem a promotion code to gain a GOALL subscription, we may share data regarding your usage of GOALL with the organization that provided the promotion code.
12. Communicating with You
GOALL will use the email address you provide to send you the following types of messages:
- Essential messages to support the operation of the Service
- Messages to support the GOALL teaching methodology and reinforce your learning, such as learning tips, reminders to practice, and progress reports
- Recruitment messages for usability testing
- Notifications about friend requests and your friends' progress on GOALL
- Announcements regarding changes to the Service or products
- Announcements of new GOALL products, services, offers, or research opportunities
You may opt out of receiving non-essential GOALL emails by clicking "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of your latest email from GOALL.
13. Complying with the Law and Preventing Harmful Activities
GOALL may process and share your personal information, if necessary, in response to and in compliance with legal requests, such as subpoenas, court orders, or other lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. GOALL may process and share your personal information for the purpose of providing you with personalized advertising. GOALL may process any aggregated, de-identified, or otherwise anonymous or anonymized information. Such information is not considered personal information. We may also use information in aggregate form so that no individual user is identified for marketing profiles, strategic development, and audit usage of the site.

When you use GOALL, some of your activity will be logged on the platform used to build GOALL, which may capture and analyze your activity and provides GOALL with data to help make the GOALL app better. This third-party service keeps track of user names, email addresses, and profile pictures, but does not record passwords.
GOALL may share your personal information with external companies that perform services on behalf of GOALL. When GOALL works with an external party, these parties agree to process your personal information based on GOALL's instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy. We will not disclose nor sell personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes.

GOALL is committed to doing its best to maintain the security of information collected on our websites. We take precautions to protect your information. GOALL has appropriate measures in place to help ensure that users' data is protected against unauthorized access or use, alteration, unlawful or accidental destruction, and accidental loss.

The Internet facilitates the worldwide transfer and processing of personal data. Considering this global nature, we recognize that data transmission may occur across international borders. For individuals within the European Union, we adhere to the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework ("Framework") established by the U.S. Department of Commerce. 24. Data Retention
GOALL generally retains your personal information until your account is deleted (Account Deletion Request). While processing your personal information, we ensure compliance with this privacy policy. Subsequently, once your personal information is no longer required, we securely erase or anonymize it. However, certain information may be retained by GOALL for extended periods if necessary to meet legal obligations, provide our services, safeguard our legitimate interests or those of third parties, resolve disputes, investigate misuse or disruptions of the service, or fulfill contractual agreements. Additionally, anonymous data may be retained indefinitely.

To access the GOALL app, all users must be at least 13 years old.
GOALL's target audience is autonomous adult language learners. GOALL is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 18. GOALL does not knowingly collect personal information as defined by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") in a manner not permitted by COPPA.
